Plan it

Plan your Christmas party in 5 steps

Go in order: each step shapes the choices in the next one.

  1. Choose a theme

Classic red–green–gold, a “White Christmas” in snow and silver, or a nostalgic Santa, reindeer and snowman theme. Your theme decides the decoration colours, the outfits and the piñata design.

  2. Lock in the date and guests

In 2026, Christmas Day falls on a Friday and Christmas Eve on a Thursday — office and school parties clash easily, so set the date early. Guest numbers and ages decide how many games, how many gifts and what size piñata you need.

  3. Set a budget

Christmas adds a gift budget on top of everything else — split it by category (see Budget) before you start shopping.

  4. Prepare games, gifts and food

Choose 4–6 games and agree the Secret Santa rules (price limit, how names are drawn). Save the piñata for the grand finale.

  5. Decorate and do a dry run

Put up the tree and lights, test the piñata hanging point and get a small gift bag ready for each young guest.

Christmas piñatas

What do piñatas have to do with Christmas?

In Mexico, piñatas are part of Las Posadas, nine nights of celebrations from December 16 to 24. The traditional Christmas piñata is a seven-pointed star — the points are said to stand for the seven deadly sins, and breaking it open shares the sweets out among everyone.

All our piñatas are handmade from paper. Play once by hitting it, or many times with the pull-string version — ideal for big classes and office teams. Size and colours can be customised.

🛡️ Play it safe

  • Keep a 2 m safety circle around the person swinging
  • One adult holds the rope from behind, out of reach of the stick
